God Help The Child
Started reading this book exactly a month ago, read some pages and then... I found myself in a reading slump. Anyway, I've now recovered and stayed up late last night to finish the book. First of all, this is a great book. I think everybody should read it. The book revolves around a person who calls herself Bride. Through her we see horrific incidents happening to children of any gender. Personally I have never come across any child suffering from such trauma but I was very much aware about it. There are few people who would come forward to tell their stories. This book made me realize the many forms of crimes a person could inflict upon a child whose world should always be filled with innocence. Once this innocence gets destroyed it can never lead to happy adults because they're always tied to their past. This was my first Toni Morrison book. I look forward to read more works.
