Alice's Adventures In Wonderland

This book was a very short read, took me around one day (the first day I picked up the book...slept like a baby after reading 10 pages)...well <shrug> that doesn't mean the book was boring. It usually takes me a while to get hooked to a book.

I had always wanted to read this book because it's a classic children literature but then a full grown adult can read it too. Fun Fact: bought this book cuz the cover was sooo pretttyy and the sequel was included as well <cries>  I can picture myself reading this when I'm 60-70 year old haha. It is so adorable that the author Lewis Carroll just narrated this story to entertain a child he was so fond of and that child loved the story so much that she begged him to write it down, wow.

To some the story might seem non-sensical, as a bunch of creatures thrown together with no plot whatsoever but that just depends on the perception. In the very beginning Alice kept on complaining about her height, she went on as far as to say that three-inch height is a 'wretched height' TO THE CATERPILLAR (he was exactly three-inch). This made me retrospect on my own actions, like putting yourself on others' shoes....what might be bad for me, might be good for the other..so, perception. And then, Alice herself said that she doesn't mind the changing heights but she wished that she wouldn't change so often...hmm...that's true too. Oh, and the conversation between Cheshire cat and Alice was so clever. My favorite line "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." is by the cat. The next best thing in the story is the whole conversation between Alice, Gryphon and the Mock Turtle. The thing and stuffs that are very 'normal' to the creatures seem absurd to Alice, of course the same can be observed in humans too isn't it... I remember conversations where people ridicule the other person for not 'knowing' some stuffs, well the older me would feel sad but now tsk tsk..just don't mind them (they're unknowledgable beings in the dark abyss of their made up bliss)...btw, I know unknowledgable is not a legit word now, but it can be after who-knows-when, that's how language works (so, if somebody makes fun of your pronunciation, repeat: unknowledgable beings).

Many years ago, I watched this movie that was based on this book, well really don't remember the name but the major characters were Mad hatter and the hare I believe but in the story didn't feel any pull towards them..maybe in the next part <shrug shrug>

Cue: next part, I'm coming!!!!😁
